The Glitch Mob- Warrior Concerto

New single from the groups upcoming We Can Make The World Stop EP. Using the Cold Stone Creamery likability scale of Like It, Love It, Gotta Have It.... I would give this song a Like It. It's kinda unique, it gradually builds up, there's the dragon/snake/monster in a canyon cover art, and it's in promotion of Lollapalooza.

Lil B- Trapped in Prison

The Based God a.k.a Lil B has dropped his album I'm Gay (I'm Happy) on us today in a surprising fashion. Here is one of the tracks from it called Trapped in Prison. As stupid as all the shit surrounding Lil B is, the rapper ain't bad. Enjoy some of the Based God pictures that are all over Tumblr.

Wugazi- S.R.E.A.M

This is a dope new mashup of the Wu Tang Clan's "C.R.E.A.M" and Fugazi's "I'm So Tired" (thus sleep rules everything around me). I think it might be featured on the upcoming WuTang compilation due out in July. Fugazi are an incredibly influential post-hardcore punk band from the 90's so a mashup with the WuTang is pretty unlikely. Their lead singer was also the lead singer of Minor Threat. The combination of the echoing piano chords with verses from the Wu is tremendous. If I ever have children this is what they'll listen to before bed. Big ups to Kaius for tip.

Wugazi- SREAM

Givers - Up Up Up (Ruen and Ryan Evans Remix)

Supertrend posted the original version of this song sometime last week (how boring) but I have a super cool remix to present to you along with an incredibly artsy fartsy, grotesque looking image.

Givers - Up Up Up (Ruen and Ryan Evans Remix)

The Submarines - 1940 (AmpLive Remix)

It always makes me extremely happy when I find tracks that other blogs aren't blogging about. Here at SB, we try to bring you quality tunes as best we can, and never attempt to clutter our site with just any new music, because not all new music is good. I came across The Submarines Honeysuckle Remixes, which came out in 2009, and found an absolute gem. AmpLive's trip-hop heavy remix of "1940", in my opinion, is flawless.

Breakbot - Fantasy (Viceroy's Summer Mix)

Our boy Viceroy (previously DJ Philistine) is at it again, this time with a remix of Breakbot's "Fantasy". Once again, he produces a nu-disco dance jam that is perfect for any summer night. Check out our previous posts on him for Sunny Daze and Goody Two Shoes, and check out his Souncloud for more great jams.

Class Actress - Keep You

It has been two years since Elizabeth Harper introduced her Class Actress project and over a year since the release of her debut EP Joan of Ardency. Class Actress has been out of the public eye (on the interwebz), mostly touring and working on her latest LP Rapprocher. "Keep You" is a silky, 80s-esque electro pop tune that I have been enjoying recently, and I hope you all do too.

The Beatles - And I Love Her (Allure Remix)

Currently on top of the Hype Machine charts, Allure's interpretation of The Beatles "And I Love Her" is one to be reckoned with. It is usually a daunting task to remix any Beatles song, or any classic song for that matter, but this Parisian producer does it well. This dance floor heat is perfect for an outdoor venue or summery club. Get it!

The Beatles - And I Love Her (Allure Remix)

Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers (The Oos and Ahhs Remix)

Here at SB, we love Lykke Li, and you should too. We also love the countless remixes of her work. NYC's The Oos and Ahhs take the Scandinavian singer's sweet vocals and add a little chillstep flavor.

"The Oos & Ahhs strike again with a dark, hard-hitting interpretation of Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers”. The remix takes you on a tumultuous deep sea journey through wobbles, waves, and arpeggiators; a cold reflection of the perilous depths of infatuation."

Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers (The Oos and Ahhs Remix)

Escort - Cocaine Blues

NYC's own Escort released "Cocaine Blues" last September, but today was my first time hearing the track....it has a great disco vibe, immediately hooking the listener. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure that the chorus is a play on words....

"A knife a fork, a bottle and a cork, that's the way we spell New York"

"Chick in the car and the car won't go, that's how we spell Chicago"

I have the Chicago line figured out, but am still working on the New York line. If you can figure out the New York line let me know in the comments! Shout out to my main man Cranberry for introducing me to this song.

Escort - Cocaine Blues

Adele - Rumor Has It (Atom Christie Remix)

Post-Dubstep is a genre that emerged in 2009. It is influenced by dubstep but encompasses minimal, ambient music and often samples R&B from the early 2000's. I honestly have no information on Atom Christie besides that he is from Virginia. He has 19 followers on Soundcloud which means he is terrible, or waiting to be discovered. Based on what I've heard from the guy, it is definitely the latter.

Enigma - What Must I Do (Original Mix)

Team SB has never really been down with UK Garage for a couple of reasons. (1) We live in the US and the scene has been relatively small here, and (2) we were pretty young when the genre gained peak popularity. However, today I was searching the web for some new post dubstep and came across this new track Enigma put out, and I immediately bought it. I've been listening to it on repeat for hours now. I don't know if it is the vocals, or the beautifully constructed bassline, but I have gained an appreciation for the genre. Support the artist and grab a copy by clicking the down arrow on the Soundcloud player.

Gang Gang Dance- Mindkilla (Lee Scratch Perry Remix)

Lee Scratch Perry has been around the music industry forever (he's 75 years old) as a producer and an artist. He's been credited as the creator of Dub. Gang Gang Dance must be stoked that he picked one of their songs to remix. It's pretty awesome. Here's a short clip of a documentary on Perry's life.

Dubstep Roundup

It has been a while where I have found enough good dubstep to make a multiple song post. Today however, I present to you some of the best from the last week, that I think the bassheads will enjoy.

Flight Facilities - Crave You (Adventure Club Remix)

The Killabits - Hide You

Miike Snow - Silvia (VOODOO FARM Remix)

Araab Muzik - Streetz Tonight

My boy Kaius told me about Araab Muzik today, and I was blown away. The sounds from "Streetz Tonight" resemble an ambien trip. With dreamy vocals and trance like synths, Araab Muzik takes you away. Then, when I saw this video of his production skills live at 90.7 WXIN PROVIDENCE, I couldn't believe it. Check out the track

Pretty Lights - Summertime

In honor of the first day of summer, Pretty Lights dropped "Sumemrtime" on their website. The track contains 8 summertime tunes, from Sublime to Mungo Jerry. Pretty lights is all over the place on this one, but it works. Let us know what you think!

CSS - Hits Me Like A Rock (feat. Bobby Gillespie)

Cansei De Ser Sexy (CSS) are about to release their third album "La Liberacion", and in anticipation, made their fist track available for free. "Hits Me Like a Rock" is a soothing summer tune; electro-pop in nature with a hint of Caribbean flavor. Check it out and our previous CSS post.

Washed Out - Amor Fati

As SUPERTREND stated in a recent post, we are constantly trying to provide you with outstanding summer jams here at SB. Washed Out's "Amor Fati" is a chillwave track that in my opinion is perfect for the summer. Have a listen!

Washed Out - Amor Fati

Ruby Frost- Moonlight (Midnight Surfer Remix)

(Image from Iker Elorrieta)

I caught Midnight Surfer spinning at the Pasadena music festival this past weekend and he was absolutely killing it. Everyone was dancing, from little black children break-dancing to 70 year old white folks line dancing ( no joke. it was weird). He remixes lots of different genres but I would probably categorize him as a nu-disco/electro artist. Check out a few of his tracks.

Ruby Frost- Moonlight (Midnight Surfer remix)

Parallels- Ultralight (Midnight Surfer Remix)

Cillo - Breathe (Vocal Mix)

SB favorite Cillo is at it again with a chill step remix that will give you the chills. Using the vocals from Metric's "Help I'm Alive", Cillo provides a dark tune, full of echos, deep basslines, and eerie undertones. Check this one out, and his remix of "Hustle".

Gorillaz - Melancholy Hill (Feed Me Remix)

If you are familiar with the sounds of Feed Me, you are used to his aggressive, bass filled style. His remix of "Melancholy Hill", however, is very far from the norm. With dreamy synths, minimal bass, and driving kick drums, Feed Me showcases his talents in a different genre.

Rusko x The Game - Cali Blood Anthem (3 Stripes Blend)

What is it about Ganster Rap and Dubstep that makes them go so well together? Probably because they are both hard as hell. 3 Stripes (no, not the White Stripes) has blended Ruko's "Da Cali Anthem" and The Game's "One Blood" into a massive west coast anthem. Check it out!

Rusko x The Game - Cali Blood Anthem (3 Stripes Blend)

Nas - Nasty

Nas just came out with his first single off of his new album Life Is Good called "Nasty". Produced by Salaam Remi, this track has the old school flow that made me fall in love with Nas in the first place. "Nasty" resembles the hard, raw tracks of Illmatic, and has left me ecstatic to hear what this album's gonna be all about.

Nas - Nasty

Marlena Shaw - California Soul (A.Skillz Remix)

London based producer A.Skillz is in the business of remixing classics. He certainly isn't the first to put his touch on Marlena Shaw's "California Soul", but has put out a quality mix. He first gained mass popularity with his interpretation of The Beatles' "Come Together", and is on his way to be a major producer.

Givers - Up Up Up

Searching for the perfect summer tune, we came across Givers. If you're down with Ra Ra Riot or Vampire Weekend, you'll be down with Givers. This 5 piece Louisiana based indie group gained a lot of attention at SXSW and just released their first album "In Light" last week. Check out "Up Up Up" and let us know what you think.

FRIDAY BANGERS 6/17

We are celebrating our last college days together in Martha's Vineyard, and have been destroying our bodies. We went out to a local bar in Oak Bluffs last night, and 20 of us absolutely murdered the dance floor. We plan to do the same for the rest of the trip. Check out our latest installment of Friday Bangers Series, and get your weekend started right.

Big Sean ft Wiz Khalifa, Chiddy Bang – High

Kanye West has been calling Big Sean the future of hip hop. I don't really know how I feel about him. I've heard him put out some solid tracks, but then put out some duds. Check out some of his newest, and let us know what you think.

Tove Stryke- Million Pieces (Familjen Remix)

This track is not to be missed. It's an absolute electro-pop gem. Tove Stryke was a contestant on Swedish Idol. Familjen is the alias of Swedish techno/electro-pop artist Johan T Karlsson. Posted on The Music Ninja a few days ago, this track came out in 2010 and was slept on. Hypem failed us all...

Tove Stryke- Million Pieces (Familjen Remix)

Domo Genesis- Boss' Life

Out of all the artists associated with OFWGKTA, the name of Domo Genesis might be my favorite. Frank Ocean is up there as well. Domo spits over the instrumental from Snoop and Nate Dogg's ( both descendants of the Dogg family) song and it doesn't disappoint.

Team Me - Dear Sister

Here at SB, we are constantly looking for the perfect summer tune. Its great when tracks like "Dear Sister" are sent to us because we spend so much time sifting through music every day. Filled with guitar rifts, light vocals and an instrument Team Me calls the "pling plong" (you'll know what it is when you listen) this racing tune is perfect for the months ahead.

Team Me - Dear Sister

Pogo - Murmurs Of Middle-Earth

If you haven't heard of 22 year old Perth, Australia based producer Pogo, you should get to know him. His style is entirely unique, lifting vocals and instrumentals from movies and mixing them into different style tracks. "Murmurs Of Middle-Earth" is a chill house-esque track featuring samples from "Lord Of The Rings". Check it out, its really cool.

Pogo - Murmurs Of Middle-Earth

Dirty Vegas- Little White Doves (Nightriders Remix)

For those of you who don't know, a white dove is another name for ecstasy but it's clearly just a coincidence that this song has that in its title. This was originally really house-y but Nightriders mixed it up a bit and turned it into something to drive to or to take to the beach.

Professor Purple

I don't know how I haven't heard about this kid until now. Professor Purple (Jeremy Malvin) is a percussion student at the University of Michigan and has put out some seriously good electronic remixes. I guess he has grabbed enough popularity in Ann Arbor to play sets on some radio stations. Check him out, grab the tracks, and check out a Indie Dance Mix he did for 90.7 WVKC.

Goldroom - Morgan's Bay

Goldroom's MGMT sent us over "Morgan's Bay" the other day, and it is a great summer time track. I won't say any more about him, but let whoever wrote this email (most likely an English major in college...big words) tell you about him.

"Born out of Los Angeles synthpop trio NightWaves, Goldroom is Josh Legg’s solo effort. An amalgamation of dreamy synths, emotive vocals, and tropical disco grooves, Goldroom paints the soundscape of summertime in Los Angeles. A breezy response to the heavy, dub-laden clubs around Southern California, Goldroom’s music is ready-made to soundtrack apoolside soiree. Influenced heavily by French Touch innovators like Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, Legg has crafted an uniquely Californian take on the genre, incorporating live instrumentation and percussion with elements of downtempo disco to create something more than the sum of its parts."

Goldroom - Morgan's Bay

Yelle - Ce Jeu (Thunderlust Remix)

Over at SB, we love the Frenchie Yelle. We also love so many remixes of her tracks out there. We found this solid synth driven rework of "Ce Jeu" by Northampton producer Thunderlust at AWT and its a quality, quality track. I highly suggest you check it out.

DJ Jacks Green - This Shit feat. Sol

Sol is back at it again as he raps over a fresshhhhh beat by DJ Jacks Green. Sol's "So Damn High" is quite possibly my favorite song that I have ever posted on SB, and although this song is not of the same caliber, it is still a must listen.

Wu-Tang Clan, Nas & Damien Marley - As We Enter the Gravel Pit (Skratch Bastid Blend)

Whats up SB world. We deeply apologize for no Sunday Hangover Playlist this week. Graduation festivities consumed our entire weekend. We will be back with the relaxing tunes next Sunday.

In the mean time, I came across a phenomenal blend today by Skratch Bastid. Wu Tang, Nas and Damien Marley on one track? Get it.

Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)

As I continue to freak out about the end of my college career, this song is making me feel alright about my future endeavors. "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" was extremely popular in the 90's, and it may be the most unique "song" I have ever heard.

Sorry about the lack of posts yesterday. Spent the day in Lake George celebrating Senior Week here at the U.

Kings Of Leon - Use Somebody (RAC Remix)

Kings Of Leon - Use Somebody (RAC Remix)

Carte Blanche ft. Alexis Taylor - With You

We have been getting some comments about the way we present music to you all on SB. Some people have said they want to be able to play the music in continuous stream on the site without having to stop and play individual tracks. Some people want to download the tracks directly from the site without having to go to Hulkshare. That being said, we are going to switch over to a new style of player that will allow you to play future songs like a playlist right on the site, while being able to download directly from SB. Please comment and let us know how you feel about these changes.

Stumbling on the interwebz today, I came across a perfect summer jam. Carte Blanche and Alexis Taylor's "With You" is upbeat in nature, with sunny day synths and warm female vocals. Check it out, and grab the track below (right click, save as).

Carte Blanche ft. Alexis Taylor - With You

Passion Pit - Sleepyhead (This Guy I Know Remix)

Passion Pit played at the U this fall, and after the concert some of us ended up chilling with some of the members. I wasn't a big fan of them as people. But, I am a fan of their music. There have been over a million (I exaggerate a little) "Sleepyhead" remixes, but I think this one tops them all. Have a listen and enjoy!
