[Indie/Electronic] No Diavolo - Holy Night

Florida's own No Diavolo said they were going for a "“blues/soul/doo-wop aesthetic with a minimalist hip-hop vibe" on this one. Seems about right to me. With strong vocals and eerie undertones, "Holy Night" is a great fall track, and will be a dark favorite for Halloween parties.

We've said this 1000 times. RAC can do no wrong. His imaginative, synth heavy style gets me every time. His latest is a rework uses vocals from Liz Anjos' cover of Smashing Pumpkin's classic "1979", a favorite of just about everybody that grew up in the 90's. There isn't a whole lot to say about this track, besides the fact that it is just beautiful. Accompanied by the surreal vocals of Taken By Tree's Victoria Bergsman, Swedish Duo Korallreven bid farewell to summer with this flawless experimental tune. The limited As Young As Yesterday 12″ comes pressed on orange vinyl and features remixes from Panda Bear + Girl Unit. Be sure to check it out.

[Indie/Electronic] Carousel - Games

You've probably never heard of Carousel. Neither had I, until today. Faithful daily SB reader Devan U. sent us over a chilled out track by the duo (Kevin Friedman and Jackson Phillips) and I was quite impressed. I spent a long time searching the interwebs trying to find anything on them, and found literally nothing. So, either I don't know how to use Google, or SB is bringing you a completely undiscovered group with some serious talent. Check out "Games", and keep a look out for these guys.

[Multi-Genre] Mark Ronson & The Business Intl - Record Collection (Perseus Remix)

I love when a remix vaguely resembles the original. If you're into the sounds of Aeroplane, you'll be into this. [Indie] Kathryn Calder - Who Are You?

You might not know the name, but you most likely know the sound. Kathryn Calder is a member of The New Pornographers, and has an absolutely beautiful voice and has a talent for writing catchy lyrics. "Who Are You" is featured on her second solo album, titled Bright And Vivid which is due on October 25th via File Under: Music. If this is any indication of what her album will be like, Indie lovers have something great to look forward to.

[Indie Meets Rap] Master Shortie feat. Bombay Bicycle Club- Always Like This

This is the first we're hearing from the upcoming mixtape Studying Abroad by British MC Master Shortie. The mixtape is hosted by DJ Benzi and features Bruno Mars, Bluey Robinson, Ed Sheeran, Shwayze and others. "Always Like This" samples Bombay Bicycle Club, who've had a bonified hit this summer with their song "Shuffle".

[Indie] Electric Guest- Awake

Electric Guest, a band handpicked by super-producer Danger Mouse as a pet project, have been starting to make some waves in the L.A music scene, playing a few live shows and getting a little airplay on local college radio. Their sound is strikingly similar to that of Broken Bells, Danger Mouse's critically acclaimed collaboration with James Mercer of The Shins, but it's unique enough to stand on its own. "Awake" is driven by a fat bass line and the chorus is filled with vocal harmonies of what sounds like a choir of indie-girl angels. Interestingly enough, the bands lead singer, Asa Taccone, wrote the track for SNL’s “Dick in the Box” skit featuring Justin Timberlake.

[Indie-Pop] Darwin Deez- Radar Detector (The Loving Hand Remix)

Darwin Deez is an indie band whose songs are remixed quite a bit. Darwin, the group's frontman, went to the prestigious institution of Wesleyan in Connecticut (J-LO the Kid's homestate). The Loving Hand remix is a new one while the Mr. Flash remix we posted almost a year ago.
