[Electro/House] Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso - Calling (Original Mix)

I stayed up last night because I knew this track was dropping at midnight, and then I passed out. I was also going to wait and put this on the Friday Bangers playlist, but I wanted to give y'all something to rage to. At 19 years old, Alesso is making waves in the EDM community. Under Sebastian Ingrosso's wing, he already had put out some quality original production, and has even been featured on one of Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 Essential show. The Swedes are taking over. Grab the track below.

Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso - Calling (Original Mix)

[Hip-Hop/Electronic] Jay-Z/Kanye - Otis (Jay Fresh & SuperVision Remix)

Jordan Michael Johnson, (Jay Fresh) is a hip-hop artist coming out of the indie music scene in Dallas. His compositions are mixtures of eclectic electronic beats with hip-hop overtones and while his style has been described by some as “eclectic modern hip-hop,” his appeal is increasingly defined by a more thoughtful focus on the lyrical.

This guy is moving up. He has opened for LMFAO, Wale, The Cool Kids, Mac Miller, Yelawolf, Big Krit and Trae The Truth among others.

Formerly a sponsored skateboarder, Jay Fresh has morphed into a genre-merging musician whose work can be described as a venturous Mos Def or Common. His musical collaboration with SuperVision, has produced his most recently released track - an electronic remix of the Jay-Z/Kanye West original "Otis"...and its solid.

[Indie] Dominant Legs- Where We Trip The Light

The blog Yours Truly premiered this song this morning on their site and I think it's brilliant. Dominant Legs have a sound thats undeniably similar to that of Peter Gabriel. Checkk itt outtt.

Dominant Legs- Where We Trip The Light

[Indie Dance] Arcade Fire - No Cars Go (Christian Strobe Remix)

German producer Christian Strobe is doing big things in the remix game right now. We have posted his previous two remixes of M83 and LIPS on the blog last week, and he keeps coming out with fire. This time, he tackles Arcade Fire's popular track "No Cars Go", and it is nothing like the original, and it doesn't try to be. Here is what Christian had to say about it...

"To all haters, who think, I ruined the original: hey guys, this is just a tribute to Arcade Fire, I’m a big fan of them. sorry!! Indeed, nothing can beat the original…"

Arcade Fire - No Cars Go (Christian Strobe Remix)

[Electro/Post Dubstep] Jamie xx- BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

BBC Radio One Essential mixes are gods great gift to earth, taking the most influential djs and artists in the world and letting them just spin their favorite shit for a few hours. Jamie xx is one of the most promising artists/producers from the last two years or so and this may turn out to be one of the more prolific/period defining Essential mixes in a while.

[Hip-Hop/Rap] Wale - Varsity Blues

Rap music is stagnant right now. So many songs and so many artists have no real message. Wale's lyrics have a message. I literally hate Rick Ross with a passion for his horrible contributions to the world of "music", but the only thing I will commend him for is the signing and promotion of Wale. This dude is keeping hip-hop alive. I am really digging his track "Varsity Blues", which tells tales of controversy in college sports. People can relate to this track, and nobody has really touched on the topic in music. This song is so refreshing after being bombarded with horrible rap, day in and day out.

Wale - Varsity Blues

[Multi-Genre] Mark Ronson & The Business Intl - Record Collection (Perseus Remix)

I love when a remix vaguely resembles the original. If you're into the sounds of Aeroplane, you'll be into this. Ronson has given us a sneak peak at Perseus' remix of "Record Collection", and I'm a big fan. The new mix features additional vocals by Pharrell, Wiley & MNDR, and will be out on Kitsuné soon.

SkeetBeatz Sunday Hangover: The Recovery Playlist 8/28 *Hurricane Irene Edition*

If you live on the east coast, you are most likely feeling the effects or after effects of Hurricane Irene. If you had no power last night, you probably got drunk because it seemed like the only smart thing to do. Now, you are probably stuck in your house, (or on a raft) and are in dire need of some chilled beats. We have them.

[Dubstep] Blunt Instrument Remixes

I don't know how I haven't heard of these guys until now. Blunt Instrument is a duo out of Brisbane, Australia, and they really understand quality dubstep. I stumbled on these two remixes yesterday, and I was surprised by the production quality. Both tracks are heavily influenced by deep sub bass, allowing for a completely cerebral experience. Check em out.

Bob Marley - Get Up, Stand Up (Blunt Instrument Remix)

Radiohead - Street Spirit (Blunt Instrument Remix)

[Indie] Kathryn Calder - Who Are You?

You might not know the name, but you most likely know the sound. Kathryn Calder is a member of The New Pornographers, and has an absolutely beautiful voice and has a talent for writing catchy lyrics. "Who Are You" is featured on her second solo album, titled Bright And Vivid which is due on October 25th via File Under: Music. If this is any indication of what her album will be like, Indie lovers have something great to look forward to.

[Synth-Pop] Voltaire Twins - Animalia (Lifelike Remix)

Ever since we heard "Love Emulator", Team SB has been in love with Lifelike's sound. The Paris native started releasing tracks in the early 90's under the name "Ferris Bueller", and since then, he has received praise from influential members of the EDM world, such as Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, DJ Falcon and Pete Tong. His latest remix of Voltaire's "Animalia" is both ethereal and visceral in nature, and features rolling synths that will make you move. Check the track out below, and make sure to check out "Love Emulator".

[Dubstep] Mord Fustang - The Electric Dream (Charlie Darker Remix)

Montreal native and 18 year old producer Charlie Darker (Evan Blair) has given the dubstep treatment to Mord Fustang's face-melting "The Electric Dream". JLO THA KID pointed this track out to me today, and I'm a huge fan. It has the perfect amount of bass, a perfect drop, and the perfect amount of RAGE. Support the artist, and buy on Beatport.

[Indie] Fixers - Swimmhaus Johannesburg (Star Slinger Remix)

Star Slinger, who is a definite SB favorite, has released several remixes over the past week. In my opinion the only remix worth blogging is of Fixers' "Swimmhaus Johannesburg." BIG UPS to the Famous Hanky Myers for showing me this song.

Fixers - Swimmhaus Johannesburg (Star Slinger Remix)

[Electro] NERVO - We're All No One (Afrojack, Steve Aoki & Cheyenne Giles Edit)

We were given the great opportunity to see NERVO at the ID Fest at Jones Beach. The group consists of Mim and Liv Nervo, twin sisters (HOTTIES) who are making waves in the EDM world. Their latest track, "We're All No One" has been remixed by Afrojack, Steve Aoki and Cheyenne Giles, and its is phenomenal. Have a listen, and be sure to check out NERVO's other tracks.

[Nu-disco] Miami Horror - Under The Milkyway

Its been a longggggg time (almost 7 months to be exact...) since we've heard from one of my favorite groups: Miami Horror. Well, much to my delight, the Australian Nu-disco foursome just recently released a cover of The Church's "Under The Milkyway." Have a listen!

[Indie/Synthpop] Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin – Yellow Missing Signs

SSLYBY has been featured in Rolling Stone and has an unbelievably unique sound. The group is set to release their 26 song compilation Tape Club on Polyvinyl, and put out "Yellow Missing Signs" as freebie. Their first released track is a synth heavy indie-pop track about a missing persons crime in Missouri.

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin – Yellow Missing Signs

[Indie/Nu Disco] LIPS - Everything To Me (Christian Strobe Remix)

A little while back, we posted LIPS' "Everything To Me" on a Sunday Hangover Playlist. Today, we present to you a rework by Christian Strobe. The Germain native gained a ton of popularity with his remix of M83's "Midnight City", and now hes back with killer take on another great original. Adding 80's style electronic production, and a nu disco feel, Strobe really hits the spot on this one.

[New] Florence And The Machine - What The Water Gave Me

Here's the latest from Florence And The Machine....Florence Welch announced today that "What The Water Gave Me" will be on her new album (it is currently untitled), which is set to be released in early November. "What The Water Gave Me" is an absolute masterpiece, definitely comparable to Welch's wildly popular "Dog Days Are Over."

[Tech-House] Sneaky Sound System - We Love (Pleasurekraft Remix)

Who said Tech-House was dead? Pleasurekraft seems to be keeping it alive.

"What is Pleasurekraft?

A simultaneously visceral and cerebral experience induced only by the seductive, deep, groove heavy, underground techno inspired music that you hear the kids listening to ... – Common side effects include: unrelenting head bobbing giving way to complete surrender to physical movement commonly referred to."

[House] Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Otherside (Tim Mason Remix)

This one sounds like it would fit perfectly into an Avicii festival set. Tim Mason, a Brighton based big room House DJ/Producer has molded RHCP's classic heroin influenced tune "Otherside" into, well, a big room House track. Pretty standard it you ask me, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great dance floor tune.

Well boys and girls, its Friday once again. I'm gonna keep this one short, because I'm on my way to NYC and Team SB is going to tear it up at Identity Festival on Sunday at Jones Beach. Last night, I turned to Electric Area on Sirius/XM and Chuckie was playing a live set for the ID Fest in Bristow, VA and it was absolute insanity. I can't even describe my excitement. Wow. The original of this track was great, but this is amazing. Tune Yards is releasing their 12' single for their track "Gangsta" on September 27th, and they included this remix by Beastie Boys' Ad-Roc, as well as a Cut Chemist remix, the instrumental version, and an acappella version. Until then, grab this track immediately.

[Hip-Hop/Remix] Louis XV - That Shit Cray (Kreay) (Kreayshawn x Kanye x Jay-Z)

I would love to tell you about Louis XV, but I have no idea who he is. All I know is that he is from Vancouver, and what he is doing is absolute fire. He describes "That Shit Cray (Kreay)" as Parisian Lesbian Trunk Music, whatever the hell that means. I will tell you that this mix with Kreayshawn, Kanye and Jay-Z is probably the best hip-hop remix/mashup I have heard in a long time. I just wish it was longer. Get it, and check out his "Martians vs. Goblins" edit.

[Hip-Hop/Dubstep] Introducing...NatNaiel

Rapping over dubstep tracks is typically a daunting task. Most artists that try to do this, fail miserably, and most of the time the added vocals usually end up taking away from the genius of the original. This is not the case with NatNaiel. Our boys over at GMAD sent us over two of his latest tunes, that will be featured on his forthcoming project, entitled Pizza. Have a listen, and let us know what you think...

[Mash-Up] White Town – Your Woman (The White Panda Remix)

I'm not typically the biggest fan of The White Panda, or mash-ups in general, but when they are done well, they are done well. The bamboo boys lay down Dorrough's "Ice Cream Pain Job" over White Town's "Your Woman", and its solidddddd.

White Town – Your Woman (The White Panda Remix)

[Dubstep] Florence & The Machine – You’ve Got The Love (Revolvr Remix)

Florence & The Machine's "You’ve Got The Love" has been reworked countless times, but has never gotten the proper dubstep treatment, until today. EDM producer Revolvr has really hit the spot on this one, transforming this pop classic into a sub bass laden, down-tempo tune. As the dubstep scene is overwhelmed with mid-range crank and high pitched frequencies, its nice to see a producer getting back to the genre's roots, focusing on space, time, and low frequency wobbles.

[Alternative] No Ceremony - Hurt Love

We get flogged with emails every day from music marketing firms or labels hyping this artist or that artist with paragraphs saying that they are the next best thing blah blah blah. Then once in a while, somebody tries a marketing technique of literally sending us no information about the artist or song, and sometimes it works. I have absolutely no idea who No Ceremony is, and I am intrigued. "Hurt Love" is a mysteriously beautiful electronic masterpiece, backed with a piano tune and distorted, chopped vocals. If you're into M-83, James Blake or ambient dance music, you'll be into this. Props to No Ceremony for doing nothing to get noticed, and getting noticed.

No Ceremony - Hurt Love

[Eletronic/Remix] David Guetta ft. Sia - Titanium (eSQUIRE Remix)

I'm not gonna lie, I have never heard of eSQUIRE until today. Apparently, the Liverpool native has been putting out remixes and has been hot on the scene in Europe for a couple of years now. Today, he released an edit of David Guetta's newest club heat "Titanium", and its pretty worthy. It doesn't vary too far from the original, but adds enough to bring a new flavor to the track. Have a listen.

[Dubstep] Calvin Harris - Flashback (Millions Like Us Remix)

Its been a hot minute since we have heard from Brighton dubstep powerhouse Millions Like Us, but its always great when we get their new stuff. The trio is famous for making dubstep accessible to the masses, remixing popular tunes as well as coming out with original productions like "Don't Let Go", that are rave inducing, highly danceable tracks. [Indie/Electronic] SBTRKT ft Little Dragon - Wildfire (Paper Diamond Remix)

I've been asked a bunch of times now for remixes of SBTRKT's Wildfire. Wheelchair Jimmy's (Drake) verse on his remake was halfway decent, but not the greatest. Paper Diamond is signed to Pretty Light's label, and has put out some fairly good tracks, if you are into the PL type of sound. Check out his latest. I think this rework adds something new and fresh to the original.

SBTRKT ft Little Dragon - Wildfire (Paper Diamond Remix)

[Indie] Foster The People - I Would Do Anything For You

Foster The People blew up onto the American music scene when they released their debut album Torches back in May. With three headlining songs on Torches ("Pumped Up Kicks," "Helena Beat," and "Houdini"), this gem got overlooked. "I Would Do Anything For You" has recently risen to one of the top spots on Hype Machine, and is definitely on par with the before mentioned hits. Have a listen, I promise you won't be disappointed....

Foster The People - I Would Do Anything For You

[Dubstep] Fytch & Captain Crunch ft. Carmen Forbes – Raindrops (Original Mix)

Boy do I have a treat for you today. If you haven't figured it out, good dubstep is hard to come by these days and this will be one of the best dubstep tracks you will hear this year. Captain Crunch and Fytch are relatively unknown, but are signed with Borgores' BuyGore Recs. "Raindrops" is layered with cut up vocals from the talented Carmen Forbes, and features a gritty bassline that will immediately remind you of Flux Pavilion. Check it out!

[Indie-Pop] Correatown - Further

I've never heard of Correatown, and I doubt you probably have either. The Los Angeles based indie-pop group is set to drop their sophomore full-length, “Pleiades”, which is due out September 30th on Another Room Recordings. At the forefront of the group is Angela Correa, whose silky soft vocals are the epitome of beauty, and need to be heard. If you like "Further", I highly suggest you buy their album Etch The Line for only $5, and anticipate more to come.

[Moombahton/Bass] Skrillex & Knife Party - Zoology (Preview)

It seems like Skrilly has fallen in love with Moombahton too. But of course, he had to add the bass. Sonny has teamed up with Knife Party (named after the Deftone's song "Knife Party"), a side project of Electronic superstars Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen from the group Pendulum. Although this is only a preview, you will know what exactly is to come. Check it out, and buy Knife Party and Skrillex on Beatport.

[Mixtape] G-Eazy - Endless Summer

I can't figure this guy out. I don't even know if I like his raps because his beats are so unbelievable I am mesmerized by the production. We've featured The Eazy on SB before, with a remake of Tennis' "Marathon" where he talks about banging WASPy bitches that pay for everything, and his coke-infused club banging anthem "Nose Goes" featuring Swiss Chriss and DallasK. He just dropped his latest mixtape, and again, there are some tracks with unreal beats, using samples from artists ranging from new indie bands like Generationals to even Frankie Valli and Dion & the Belmonts. My favorites are "Endless Summer", "Runaround Sue", and "Run" but there are also some other gems. Check him out below, and download the entire mixtape.

Air France- It Feels Good

[Hip-Hop, Witch House] Ghost Town DJ's- My Boo (Balam Acab Remix)

Ghost Town DJ's 1996 smash "My Boo" was a staple on the teen slow-dance circuit and was played at exactly 95% of all weddings in the hood in the latter part of the 1990's. Laden with heavy bass inspired by the Miami Bass/Booty Bass movement, the original track blended R&B style vocals with a high-tempo electro beat. It was released on Jermaine Dupri's record label So So Def, sometimes called Very Def. This Balam Acab remix is a fresh take on the classic and is nearly impossible to play just once. Dipset sampled "My Boo" on their 2005 song " I Wanna Be Your Lady".

[Indie Meets Rap] Master Shortie feat. Bombay Bicycle Club- Always Like This

This is the first we're hearing from the upcoming mixtape Studying Abroad by British MC Master Shortie. The mixtape is hosted by DJ Benzi and features Bruno Mars, Bluey Robinson, Ed Sheeran, Shwayze and others. "Always Like This" samples Bombay Bicycle Club, who've had a bonified hit this summer with their song "Shuffle".

[Indie] Electric Guest- Awake

Electric Guest, a band handpicked by super-producer Danger Mouse as a pet project, have been starting to make some waves in the L.A music scene, playing a few live shows and getting a little airplay on local college radio. Their sound is strikingly similar to that of Broken Bells, Danger Mouse's critically acclaimed collaboration with James Mercer of The Shins, but it's unique enough to stand on its own. "Awake" is driven by a fat bass line and the chorus is filled with vocal harmonies of what sounds like a choir of indie-girl angels. Interestingly enough, the bands lead singer, Asa Taccone, wrote the track for SNL’s “Dick in the Box” skit featuring Justin Timberlake.

[Electro Remix] Alex Winston- Velvet Elvis (RAC Remix)

The latest from RAC's Andre Allen Anjos. Another upbeat pop rework. This guy's songs need to be on the radio. There are few artists out there that possess his ability to take already good songs and rework them into something even greater. RAC remixes are like comfort music. The uptempo beats and melodic synth chords have a way about them that make you feel happy. Oh, and Alex Winston is an American indie pop rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Classically trained in opera, Winston was encouraged by her parents to pursue music. She once opened for Ted Nugent. This explains why she is covered in blood in her picture.

Alex Winston- Velvet Elvis (RAC Remix)

[Electro] Nero - Promises (Calvin Harris Remix)

Big tracks, remixed by big artists. First, Nero put their touch on Calvin Harris' instant classic "Feel So Close", which was pretty phenomenal. Now, Calvin Harris has remixed Nero's latest tune "Promises" into a club ready banger. I don't know if its just me, but it sounds pretty generic. I don't feel like a whole lot of creativity was put into this tune. Check it out, and let us know what you think..

Nero - Promises (Calvin Harris Remix)

[Nu-Disco] Poolside - Do You Believe (Goldroom Remix)

Poolside is the perfect name for this band, because their music is perfect, poolside. We have featured Goldroom on SB before, and he has been well received. Today, he released his remix of Poolside's Summer 2011 anthem 'Do You Believe'. His MGMT describes the track as such;"Goldroom adds handclaps and tasty disco synths to Poolside's vocals to create the perfect sound for any summertime soiree." Sounds pretty good to me.
